Microsoft has released free software to combat spyware. The software will scan the computer and attempt to remove spyware and it features a real-time scanner to block new spyware installations as they are attempted. Additional tools are also included to help correct problems with a hijacked Internet Explorer browser that has had its settings changed by spyware or malicious websites or pop-ups..
